It's A Houston Thing

BREAKING: Texans QB Deshaun Watson tears ACL in practice, DONE FOR SEASON

Posted by Devon Bennett on

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in Thursday's practice and will miss the rest of the season, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.

More to come as details surface.

(UPDATE)

Texans have confirmed that QB Deshaun Watson has a torn ACL. The young standout QB is now shut down for the season. Many believed he had a great shot at winning Rookie of The Year, and even raising odds for MVP if he could take the Texans into the postseason. This is truly a heartbreaker for all of Houston as we just had a great World Series win, but hours later to be devastated by a Deshaun Watson injury. I am hoping he can have a fast and fun recovery (Which the Houston Texans Organization believes he will be ready for the start of next season) so the Texans are able to make a good run next year. With the injuries on both sides of the ball, this is a good time to shut it down for the team to let them get healthy and rest up for the start of next season. They have no way of winning any longer without the magic from Watson.

The Texans picked up Matt McGloin to help with the QB duties behind Savage. Hopefully Savage can steer the ship well without his help.

Prayers are up for Deshaun.
