It's A Houston Thing

Texans Drop To 2-3 After Loss To Chiefs

Posted by Devon Bennett on

The Texans just lost to the chiefs, and man was that a depressing game. Watson still seems to have a lot of upsides and played super well. The Defense will still be an issue it looks like going into next week against the Browns. I wonder if the Texans will be super aggressive in Free Agency this year, looking for CB depth. JJ Watt’s injury scares me as it may be a career-ending one as well. JJ has had too many injuries in the past 2 years to keep trying to come back and play again. While I respect him for coming to the team and giving it all, this might have been the reason his body has deteriorated so quickly. I wish JJ a speedy recovery but worried about what this means for the future. McKinney seems to be out for a while, but nothing close to Watt’s injury. Maybe this is the last year we see Watt in a jersey ever again, and I hope I’m wrong.

Watson impressed today as he was all over the field and even threw 2 bombs of touchdowns to Fuller and Hopkins to keep them even close to the game. Hopkins and Fuller seemed to have a great day with both receivers getting a touchdown and allowing themselves to be open for any receptions. Watson seemed to have a huge arm this week and even ran into a 2pt conversion. Watson is special, and I think he will be a force to be reckoned with for time to come. Next week vs the Browns should be a fun one.

The defense blew away the opportunity to win due to the lack of coverage in our secondary. I think the front 7 is good, and no changed should be made this offseason, but looking at the future of CB and S, I believe the Texans take a shot into signing a good reliable player. They will overpay, which I am fine with, to get the player after how bad it has been this season. Kevin Johnson seems to be good with coverage, but injuries may be the reason he won’t see the field very often. With JJo aging quickly, the Texans don’t have much time to find a replacement. Kareen has been okay, but nothing close to what he used to be. I am truly worried about this team on defense since this is the first time in forever that I can remember the offense being better than the defense.

I am worried about the defensive personnel for this team, but I know the offense has the power to win. The time that I see this hurting us is in the playoffs. Let’s hope we can rally back to take 1st place in the AFC South again, with the Jags currently taking the crown.
