The Houston Rockets are still in high pursuit of the superstar forward from the Knicks. Carmelo has still publically stated, even after rumors of being linked to Oklahoma City Thunder, that he will only accept a trade to Houston. One of the previous teams, Cleveland who was on his no trade clause list, has started to fall out of his focus with the Kyrie trade rumors flying around.
With this news being broken out, the Rockets are still in high pursuit for him. While there haven’t been many new trade rumors specifically stating that the buzz has been picking up, many Knicks insiders still publically state that Melo WILL become a Rocket. Like many of us, we have all been waiting countless nights and days for this trade to go down. Many Rockets fans agree that brining in Melo would actually help defeat the Golden State Warriors, or at least compete with the best team in the league. Many non Rockets fans believe this trade will not be a good one for them, as Melo will be selfish and a primary ball handler. For a team that has CP3 and James Harden, I doubt Melo will ever bring up the ball from the court to have in his hands the whole time. You can’t just take away the ball from one of the two best PG’s in the league. It just isn’t happening, so please find a new argument.
While Daryl Morey has been playing games with a lot of Rockets fans minds, with his cryptic tweets and subtle hints are things related to Melo, it has been very quiet along the Rockets end of rumors. Many know and have reported that the trade talks are there, and that it is just a matter of when, not if.
Soon Rockets fans, we might be able to enjoy the new Rockets “Big 3”, but until then, we can sit at home or work, staring at our computer or phone screens waiting for the news to break.. I know I will be.
