It’s been a slow news week regarding Carmelo, but the two sides have yet to gain any traction since our last report about them still pursing him. It’s been a back and forth tug-o-war, and both sides will not budge. Carmelo hasn’t said anything besides at his press conference at his basketball tournament which he held, which he stated he “can’t talk about that” (about the Rockets), since he’s still under contract. He did say that the Knicks DO know what he wants, and the Knicks want to make him happy, but finding a true 3rd team is the real holdup for both of these sides to get what they want and to be happy. I know everyone has been waiting for some news to drop for the trade, but sadly, nothing has really happened.
The Rockets had a new person interested in the buying group last week, and it was a Houston favorite, Beyoncé! Last week news had broken out that Beyoncé was interested in buying a small share of the Rockets to help run and process the sale of them. This would certainly be a great PR move for the Rockets to have a Houston singer who always represents the H wherever she goes. She might even help design, and help with the Rockets Power Dancers to make them even better than before. Tilman is still the most likely candidate to buy the Rockets out front, but having Beyoncé with his crew might help out a little.
Ryan Anderson had his wedding over the weekend, and it looked like nobody from the current team went to the wedding and that saddens me. It may seem like the Carmelo trade is near, but the team should still show respect for current teammate Ryan Anderson. I love the guy, and hope if the Melo deal does not work out, that he can help us with his floor spacing again. He was very important to our success last year, and I hope he can help us even more later on. His contract is just the reason why I think most people want him gone. Either way, I feel bad for the guy at his wedding, which Pat Bev showed up too, but looks like nobody else did. Seeing how Ryan’s last girlfriend situation went, I want nothing but the best for this guy.
