It's A Houston Thing

RECAP: Texans Win on Andre Johnson Day 31-21; Improve to 4-6!

Posted by Devon Bennett on

The Texans beat the Cardinals today 31-21. Today was a special day for most fans, and a special day for the Houston Texans great Andre Johnson. Today was #DreDay and the Texans came out and did their business to secure the win. The Texans looked ugly in the first half but came back in the second half to secure the victory for the city and Dre. Andre had a great halftime ceremony in which many fans were there to attend and watch. Watching it even put a tear to my eye thinking of how great he was. Andre is the first player inducted into the Texans Ring of Honor and should be heading straight to the Hall of Fame as well. As far as the game, here is the recap of everything in case you missed it:

The Texans offense was bad, but not ugly. The Texans managed to put up 31 points, but let’s be honest, the Cardinals are not a great defensive team. Seeing Savage help them put up that many points makes me wonder what Watson would’ve done to them in a single half. Savage still has the fumbling problem, In which he lost 2 fumbles today which set up the Cardinals for their two touchdowns today. The Cardinals shouldn’t have had such easy scores as the defense did their job pretty well today. Another issue is injuries and Foreman was one of the players who went down today. Just when we thought the injuries were going to be finally done with this team, they came back and took Foreman after his second TD rush today. This is unfortunate, but hopefully, the injury isn’t as bad as it looked. So far the Texans have classified it as an ankle injury.

The Texans defense looked great today and Clowney looked elite. Clowney blew up that line so many times I had lost count and just expected him to be sitting back there every snap. It almost looked like Clowney was lining up behind the line of scrimmage and just tackling the QB or RB the second the ball is snapped. Clowney has a great amount of potential and I think this shows what he can do. If only we were able to have him and Watt at 100%... The football Gods also took away another defensive player today in Kevin Johnson, as he was diagnosed with a concussion. Hopefully Kevin can have the time to recover and get ready for next Monday night against the Ravens. The Texans will need him.

The Texans play the Ravens on Monday Night Football, and hope to improve their record (which I don’t see why) to 5-6.
