The NFL has released a statement about injured ILB Brian Cushing earlier today. Cushing has been suspended without pay for 10 games due to a PED found in his system. The following is the release from the NFL:
“Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans has been suspended without pay for the team’s next 10 games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.
Cushing’s suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Texans’ active roster on Tuesday, November 28th following the teams’ November 27th game against the Baltimore Ravens.”
This comes after Cushing was recently diagnosed with another concussion after Sundays game versus the Jaguars. Losing Cushing may be a big blow, but it will be an upgrade no matter who the Texans sign later this week when they are back in Houston. Cushing has regressed and his play has shown it. Rookie Zach Cunningham was drafted as his replacement and will see more snaps coming up. The Texans are looking for a veteran LB who can help lead the group for not just this season, but for the next few as well.
The Texans are going to be busy with transactions after this Thursday game. Keep it here for more information for your favorite Houston sports teams.
