The Astros had a great win today against the Red Sox as they beat them 8-2. Verlander looked good to start off and had a little bit of trouble towards the middle innings but squeezed as much as they could out of him in order to keep the bullpen fresh for the rest of the series and playoffs.
The team started off with a bang in the first inning as Bregman and Altuve both homered on their first at-bat. While the Astros did give up a controversial run in the 2nd inning, everything else was perfect. This is exactly the kind of start we need in the playoffs to hopefully lift us off and keep playing well. Many were scared if the Astros had peaked too soon during the regular season and might’ve lost their juice in the playoffs. I know I was worried about age being a factor, but it seems like this team answered the questions with the first game. There will still be 2 more to go after this, but this series is realistically one that we can end now. Altuve looked great today, and Bregman also looked fantastic. Altuve looked like he is ready to make sure there are no doubts for his MVP as his hitting was near perfect today. Altuve knows that award is his, and he just showed up Aaron Judge as well in the playoffs (which doesn’t matter) but if there were any doubts, they should be gone by now. The rest of the Astros and our bullpen look hungry for the title this year, and I know the fans are as well. Get ready for game 2, it’s going to be a good one guys. Make sure to be there and be LOUD!
The Astros look to keep up the pace to win in Game 2 against the Red Sox. Are Y'all ready to finish the series out? I know I am.
Oh hey... PS... Let me drop this right here.
