WOW! The Astros just pulled off the comeback and won 7-6. Many are shocked as I am, as I was ready to write a motivational piece as to how we can come back down 2. Jose Altuve just ruined my night and made me revise this whole thing. I am shocked. Correa score in the 10th as well, and the Astros never looked back. In the 11th Springer Dinger was in full effect. He drove in Maybin and they led 7-5.
Houston woke up in the 10th. I for one am SHOCKED. So are about the millions of Astros fans sitting in their bedroom. WOW DID THEY SHOW UP. Puig made it close in the end, but ultimately they saved themselves. This team I special, and has it’s problems, but man this was something special I haven’t seen all season. The bats needed to be woken up, and boy were they. Altuve and Correa showed up right at the end when it mattered most. The most consistent player this series, Bregman, also came up big and scored today as well. Many thought this game was over in the 6th and 7th when the offense was just so sluggish. The 9th a huge turn of events happened due to Marwin, and the Astros did not look back at all. This is the team who had the highest hitting percentage, and one of the best offenses in the game. They have been asleep most of the playoffs, but have been able to sneak off some wins like tonight. The offense came alive at the end, and sometimes that is fine. Maybe not for the fans, but for the team, that is acceptable. I know I had about 5 heart attacks tonight, and I don’t even have heart problems!
The pitching started off consistent between both teams, but the Dodgers gave up the first run in 3rd, and made the switch in the 4th. Astros relieved Verlander after 6 IP, to bring in Will Harris who did a great job at keeping it close. The Astros bullpen seems to be doing their job and helping when needed. Which came in clutch at the end of the game.
Houston get ready. The series is coming home. We even have a chance to end it there. Get ready, be loud, and show your support this weekend. Hopefully, we are able to end it here. In the greatest city in the world. Houston, Texas.
