The Astros survived the Home Run Derby between the two teams. The Astros narrowly edged the Dodgers by 1 run in extra innings towards the end of the game. The momentum is all on the Astros side and they will need it for the next game in LA. The Astros relied heavily on the HR ball today, and Bregman had a huge hit at the end of the game to send the Dodgers back to LA with a loss.
The Astros had a bunch of HR's this game. Bregman's game-winner was a deep one to centerfield but allowed Fisher to run it in for the win. Game 6 is going to need a bunch of hitters to do what they did tonight. But most importantly, Verlander will need to be his elite self again. The stats are on the Astros side, as Verlander has yet to lose as an Astro. Hopefully, this team can keep the bats hot. Yuli had the first big homer bringing in 2 other Astros to tie it up down 1-4. The Astros then had Altuve come in and get the game close and hit another 3 HR, and tied it at 7. in the 7th is when the bats went crazy as well as Altuve and Correa added more home runs into the mix. All I can say is T-Mobile is going to go broke after this! Let's hope the Astros can keep this hitting mojo they had today, and that the Dodgers will not be able to keep up. This team is ready.
The Bullpen did not do their job, but to be honest, neither did. We can talk about these new balls they are using and the conspiracy behind them, but that's for another article. Verlander needs to come out strong and take the win for game 6. It is the Astros destiny now. They control the rest of this series, and the momentum is definitely on their side now. Let's hope the bullpen can do their job tomorrow.
The Astros play in LA tomorrow the 31st and hope to close out the game there. This is defiantly a special time in Houston, and I hope this team can seal it.
