The Astros came to play today. After having a great start in the 2nd inning, they started to slug around a little bit but did their job, in the end, to sneak by with a 5-3 win. The Astros definitely have a big portion of the momentum on their side and they need to take advantage of this while it is at home. Nothing easier than winning easy games at home, especially the World Series-clinching game. Do you know how special it would be to win this on Sunday for the city of Houston? Amazing. Lance McCullers did his job, and while he has some moments of struggles, he did not allow those moments to blow up in his face.
Yuli started off the day with a home run in the second inning. Moments after this, the Astros found some momentum and started to score at will. Marwin hit a nice single, which allowed Reddick to score. McCann and Bregman also hit singles in this inning which allowed Gattis and Marwin to score. This was the big inning that padded our stats, to keep us ahead even when the Dodgers were climbing back towards the end of the game. While we did have a great inning of offense, it isn't ideal going cold later in the game like this, especially when the Dodgers are climbing back.
While pitching became shaky towards the end of the game, there would be no complaints or any throws which would ultimately screw us over later in the game. While most of their runs came off runs from 3rd while trying to save double plays, it still isn't ideal to be in these situations with pitching. Peacock came in and did his job well, allowing the Astros to keep a decent lead towards the end.
Let's hope we can build on this momentum and steal all the games from home to end this series. I don't want to make them go back to LA after seeing how dominant we can be at home. Game 4 is tomorrow, so if you're going to the game, make sure to be loud.
